i think what we heard from tom coburn yesterday actually suggests that. what we heard from tom cole previously from oklahoma suggests that as well. and you can see the texture of the deal. it is interesting, this week, of course, democrats in the house started a discharge petition on the middle income tax cuts. i think as of right now we have about 154 signatures on there. we only are to get to 218. that means you know, a bunch of reasonable republicans coming on board, signing the discharge petition, dealing with the middle income tax cuts. it sounds though that if we include -- i agree with the president. there's no way that you can get from here to there without putting a tax rate increase of a mere 4% on the highest income earners. that's what we're talking about here. preserving the middle income tax cuts, getting rid of all of the bush era tax cuts for the upper income levels and then committing to tax reform next year. sound the like a deal to me. >> bill: does the debt ceiling have to be part of that deal? >> it is ridiculous for the debt ceiling
